1. I have problems with the rendering. Errors occur when the application is started.
Malfunctions often occur when older graphics card drivers are used. Please update your graphics card driver on your computer and see whether the problems are solved.
For more information on faulty rendering please click here.
2. Where do I find explanations / help on certain functions of the pCon.planner?
Via the Help button on the Help tab you can directly access the pCon.planner online help. Apart from extensive and detailed help documentation, the pCon.planner web portal also provides tutorials, the number of which will be gradually expanded.
3. What system requirements does the pCon.planner 6 need?
You can find lists of the recommended and minimal system requirements here. If your computer does not meet the requirements is may not work properly on your computer.
4. What is the pCon.catalog?
The pCon.catalog is an independent product of EasternGraphics and is embedded in pCon.planner 6. Via the relevant button on the Ribbon you can open the online client which gives you access to the pool of diverse 3D objects from different product manufacturers. Their furnishing items can be downloaded free of charge.
5. Can I make my own online catalogs available?
Generally online catalogs can be provided by everyone. For more information please click here and contact us via the contact form. We are happy to consult you and will provide you with all important information.
6. What exactly is the 3D-Gallery?
Via the 3D Gallery button you are directly transferred to the Google 3D warehouse. In the 3D warehouse you can choose from a large selection of objects and load them into the pCon.planner.
7. When I have created designs with the previous version of the pCon.planner 6, can I open them in FML file format?
Yes, you can. You can open and process FML data without any difficulty. Similar to DWG formats it depends on the size of the file how long it takes to load the data.
8. In large plannings the 3D view does not work properly. How can I speed up the performance?
Rendering in the reality mode requires a lot of computer capacity. If your navigation in the planning is slow or choppy, change the rendering mode on the View tab. For more information on optimizing the computer performance click here.
9. How can I import materials from an AutoCAD file?
DWG files generated in AutoCAD do not contain any information on textures; all they do is save information the material that was used for an object. In order to be able to use a DWG file with the relevant texture information, save the latter in the same folder as the DWG file.
10. Which operating systems is pCon.planner 6 compatible with?
The pCon.planner 6 has been tested and works on the following operating systems:
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows Vista 64
11. I have assigned a texture or picture to the surface of another object using drag and drop. How can I delete the texture or image?
Of course you may use the undo-button right after assigning the texture or picture. If you want to remove the texture or picture at a later time you can do this by assigning a new texture, picture or a color to the object. There is no explicit delete function available for a texture.
If you have inserted the picture via the button “insert a picture” you may select and delete it at any time.
12. I have placed a picture of two-dimensional drawing element at an object, e.g. a wall or a floor. There is a strong flicker on the picture or drawing element. What can I do?
The flickering effect happens whenever two objects are placed right in the same level. You may avoid the effect by leaving a small distance between the object and the picture or drawing element. To do so you can enter a value in the orange value field, e.g. 1cm – without space -, and press enter. The picture or drawing element is now placed in the defined distance above or before the wall.
If the picture or drawing element was placed in an earlier step, switch to a suitable camera perspective and move the picture or drawing element minimally away from the object below.
13. How can I assign a curved wall with a glass front?
Unfortunately it is not possible to curve a glass front. So the command “Insert glass front” is not applicable here. A glass front is a wall made of glass, without a base. The single glass segments are devided by freckles.
For a curved glass wall WITHOUT freckles you just draw a wall, curve it and assign the window glass from the catalog “World of Materials”. You need to assign every side of the wall with the window glass to make it transparent.
For a curved glass wall WITH freckles you just curve a wall and insert several “glass panels”. The outer edges of the panel must touch each other. Since the single panel cannot be curved, the length of each panel needs to be short enough to achieve the impression of a curved wall.
14. I can't perform a turning movement in the perspective view when pressing the middle mouse button / scrolling wheel.
Please check the settings of your mouse driver. The middle mouse button / scrolling wheel must be assigned the functionality of the middle mouse button.
